CSC FRONT RANGE COMPETITIVE TEAM ORGANIZATIONAL
STANDARDS
Teams competing in the CSYSA Premier, Challenge and Classic
divisions on the Front Range are offered a unique experience within
the CSC roster of programs. These
teams also represent a much higher degree of logistical demands upon
CSC and financial commitment for the families involved and thus, shall
be carefully organized to achieve the maximum benefit for the players
and to avoid negative impacts on the financial and personnel resources
of the Carbondale Soccer Club.
In order to insure these conditions, Front Range teams shall
meet the following standards:
TEAM ORGANIZATION:
1. All teams shall have a Head Coach who will commit to attending
all practices and games, approved by the Coaching Director and Board
of CSC with the following credentials: a. A minimum "E" state coaching license
for U11-U13 teams, a minimum "D" state coaching license for U14-U18
teams. b. A minimum three years coaching experience
at that age level. c. Playing experience beyond that age
level (eg. A coach for high school aged players should have played in
college). d. OR equivalent credentials as approved
by the Board of CSC on the recommendation of the Coaching Director on
a case by case basis. e. All coaches shall submit a current
Youth Soccer Employment-Volunteer Disclosure Statement each season with CSC.
2. All teams shall have an Assistant Coach, approved by the
Coaching Director and Board of CSC for compatibility with that specific
team.
3. All teams shall have a designated Team Manager, approved
by the Board, and an Assistant Manager.
The Team Manager shall have prior experience within the club
managing teams and shall be responsible for coordinating communication
between the players, parents, team staff and CSC.
4. All players shall be registered with CSC by established
deadlines and with CSYSA prior to the league's team registration deadline,
including all required age documentation, photographs and player passes. No unregistered players are allowed to participate
at any time under any circumstances.
5. Player selection shall be in accordance with current CSC
team formation policy, on file with CSYSA, attached. Player tryouts shall be approved by the Director of Coaching at
least one week in advance.
6. A full team meeting is required prior to each season to
inform parents and coordinate shared obligations among the families,
such as field lining, carpooling, travel meals & accommodations,
and scheduling of practices, games & tournaments.
This meeting shall be noticed to CSC in advance.
COORDINATION WITH CSC:
1. Team finances: Because
Front Range teams require a high level of financial commitment from
each player and parent compared to other CSC programs, these teams shall
maintain their internal accounting separate from CSC general funds,
as follows: a. All teams
shall submit a financial organization and budget statement to the CSC
treasurer, 2 weeks prior to each season. b. All teams
shall submit a season's financial accounting to the CSC treasurer 2
weeks after each season. This
accounting will include all fees collected (listed by individual players
and sponsors) and all expenses paid (including Coach and Manager compensation). c. All teams
shall be responsible for securing their own $2,000 Performance Bond. d. While front
range teams have a greater latitude to set their own fees and to accept
volunteer services from staff willing to support such efforts, it is
strongly encouraged that teams compensate their Coaches and Managers
in accordance with current approved CSC guidelines, and that this be
reflected in proposed season budgets.
This compensation typically includes "scale" pay for the Head
Coach, based on credentials, and a full fee waiver for Managers and
Assistant Coaches, at a minimum. Other volunteers may be handled as deemed fit
by the team. e. Checks for Coaches and Managers
shall be written by CSC for non-profit tax reasons and money for those
payments shall be submitted by the team to CSC prior to registration
of the team with the league. f. While limited
scholarship support is available to Front Range teams from CSC, every
effort must be made to enforce complete and equitable fee collection
from all players.
2. All field usage for practices, games and tournaments, including
any rescheduled events shall be coordinated through the appropriate
CSC Division Coordinator for that age.
All game schedules shall be submitted to the CSC Referee Coordinator
as soon as available.
3. All registration and/or scholarship forms, including completed
liability waivers shall be received by the CSC Registrar by established
deadlines or players will not be allowed to participate.
4. Fundraising: All
fundraising proposals and activities shall be submitted to the CSC Fundraising
Director for review and approval prior to initiating any activities. Under no circumstances may any local business
or corporate sponsors be independently approached by teams.
5. Failure to properly coordinate with CSC and adhere to these
standards shall result in CSC Board review and may cause CSC to withdraw
support of such teams, either temporarily or permanently.
These standards adopted and approved by CSC Board November
